You Can Conquer Anything

*Disclaimer- While I am a therapist, I am human first. My writing will show this. My main goal in my work is to be real, authentic, and a safe space to say things that go unsaid or unrecognized. I'm not a model for all, I can only share my experience in what feels the truest to me and given by God. Thanks for reading! I like to write sticky notes to myself as motivation, inspiration, fire to keep going. I always believe these messages come from God because I know He's intentional, locked in with me, and expressive.

My God is expressive.. not quiet.

This week has been tough for many reasons but not like "hard seasons" used to be. I'm tired, overwhelmed, burnt out BUT it feels different. Before when I was burnt out I would burn everything around me too. (Quit the job, breakup, impulsive decisions, worst-case-scenario everything). Now, I just feel tired but I KNOW Ima be okay and I'm not a victim in this. I either needed the lesson to learn and be better or shit just happened and I don't have a reason for why yet. Which means I've been getting better at radical acceptance and that's a hard skill to obtain- so I'm proud.

Radical Acceptance is essentially being able to accept all of reality and it's many possibilities and being in the present and not overly focused on what's to come. It's the process of accepting that bad things might happen and unfortunate things will happen all while trusting that you'll still be okay. HARD, I KNOW. But it's more peaceful when my brain isn't trying to put out 1,000 fires of what "might" go wrong.

Radical Acceptance IS NOT ignoring the real emotions of stress, sadness, and worry. It's feeling them wholly, understanding the fear instead of pushing it away, crying when you feel like you should be strong, being real about the stress you feel (even if it lasts for months) instead of acting like you're okay. Radical acceptance aligns with everything that is right now in this moment, the good, the bad, and the ugly. It's beautiful because it's yours. It's not fun to feel or navigate but it's understanding that there's more to be written and to get there authentically, we have to accept where we are now.

And the sticky note reads, "Make it through this section and you can conquer anything."

If this resonated subscribe below to see more of when I write freely.
